Who We Are
Youth Shelter Care of North Central Iowa, Inc. is a nonprofit organization founded in 1979 by concerned citizens and guided by a volunteer board of directors. The agency provides safety, support, and stability for youth while serving as a trusted community resource dedicated to helping children and families build healthier futures.
Serving children from birth through age 18, Youth Shelter Care offers licensed emergency and temporary shelter in a secure, accepting environment. The organization works to preserve family and community connections whenever possible while coordinating services that meet each child’s immediate and long-term needs.
Who We Are
Youth Shelter Care of NCI provides round-the-clock shelter and support for vulnerable youth who have experienced crisis or trauma. Licensed to serve up to 20 children, the organization offers compassionate care, structure, and connection during times when young people need a safe haven most.
Family-Centered Support
The agency’s philosophy emphasizes family unity, collaboration, and practical support. Through shelter care, therapy, behavioral health intervention services, and in-home family counseling, Youth Shelter Care helps youth and families develop skills, strengthen relationships, and work toward positive change.
